MY DEBUT NARRATIVE FEATURE FILM

My wife, Stephanie Lynn, and I wrote and produced this film independently from the ground up.

We set out to tell a personal, relatable story with an intimate cast—while still delivering strong visuals and high production value. Maui, where I grew up, felt like the natural backdrop—both aesthetically and thematically—and served as a tribute to the place that shaped me.

We self-financed the project, cast it through our network of talented actor friends, and built the production plan from scratch. Years of experience working across roles on set allowed us to stay nimble, wear multiple hats, and execute efficiently with a small crew and a limited budget.

I handled camera and sound myself using a compact rig I built to move quickly and shoot discreetly across multiple locations.

We teamed up with a local drone operator in Maui and leaned on the support of friends and family on the island to keep production moving.

In post, I worked through much of the assembly into the final edit. The soundtrack was just as important, so my wife and I personally reached out to artists and managers to secure music rights within our budget.

We premiered the film at the Maui Film Festival, then secured distribution rights through Random Media.

Aloha Also Means Goodbye is now steaming on most major platforms.
